Vanitha Raghavan, part of the Oracle JD Edwards Product Development team, gave a presentation about how to leverage JD Edwards UX One. The presentation covered delivered out-of-the-box content, managing User Defined Objects (UDOs), and what you’ll need within your environment to get started.
About UX One
Leveraging UX One can help you build a satisfying user experience that can increase productivity while saving time and money. The many UDOs within UX Once can help eliminate the need for customizations within your JD Edwards system by creating an easy-to-use, configurable system that users will love. Users will be able to personalize their experience, and you will be able to maintain your system in a way that allows you to continually adopt new features once you’re upgraded to 9.2.
There are 52 roles delivered in UX One for rapid deployment. You can leverage this out-of-the-box content, configure the roles, or create your own material from scratch. With UX One, users can also enjoy UDOs like role-based landing pages, Watchlists, analytic components and a springboard filled with related actions. This Alert, Analyze, Act paradigm design within UX One makes users more proactive and efficient in their day-to-day work. Users will also be able to leverage features like Café One Layouts, Personalized and Extended Forms, Grid Formats and more.
Getting Started with UX One
Implementing UX One and the UDOs within it begins with reviewing the delivered UX One content that is currently available. You should begin by reviewing the roles, printscreens, and forms in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Applications UX One Roles Guide. Oracle recommends downloading the UX One Cross Reference and Notification Cross Reference. The UX One Cross Reference is an easy way to find objects that are delivered by role and object dependencies. The Notification Cross Reference can show you objects that are delivered for each functional category and notification name. For more information, visit https://LearnJDe.com and search for “UX One.”
Business and Technical Requirements for UX One
Deploying UX One has both business and technical requirements. The business requirements include:
- Defining your goals
- Deciding what delivered content you want to implement
- Identifying object types that you will enable and use
- Evaluating UX One roles, delivered notifications and UDO types
Technical requirements include:
- Upgrading to Applications 9.2 and Tools 9.2.1 or higher
- Setting up an AIS Server or ADF Server
- Setting up AIS Server to use analytic components, notifications with orchestrations, and Modernized User Interfaces
- Set up ADF Server on WebLogic if you are using Orchestrator Studio or Modernized User Interfaces
To deploy UX One, you’ll need to download ESU and data packs. Then, import the UDOs, share them, and verify UDO View Security. From there, you’ll need to add environments to UX One roles, assign roles to your users, build menu indexes for the springboard, and set up UDO security.
