What’s New and What’s Next in PeopleSoft HCM

The PeopleSoft team continues to make bold investments in the HCM suite, driving innovation and user experience improvements for Oracle customers across industries. At BLUEPRINT 4D, Russell Broom, Vice President of Product Strategy for PeopleSoft, unveiled the latest updates and the 12–18-month roadmap for HCM, ELM, and HR Help Desk. From fluid modernization and productivity tools to legislative updates and a vision for what’s ahead, here’s a look at the highlights.

A Clear Commitment to PeopleSoft

Oracle has reaffirmed its long-term support for PeopleSoft, with updates guaranteed through at least 2036. This commitment comes with a steady cadence of new capabilities, modern experiences, and smarter tools to help HR teams deliver better outcomes and greater efficiency.

Reimagining the User Experience

One of the most exciting changes is the upcoming PeopleSoft Landing Page, a redesigned, intuitive experience tailored to casual users. Unlike the current homepage, the new landing page offers intelligent navigation, actionable suggestions, and reminders to complete unfinished tasks. It’s more than a visual upgrade—it’s a complete rethinking of how users engage with PeopleSoft.

Powered by in-app notifications and Notification Composer, the landing page dynamically surfaces relevant content like onboarding tasks, system announcements, HR alerts, and performance evaluations. Organizations can configure how long messages stay visible and whether users can dismiss them manually or automatically after completing associated tasks.

More Personal, More Powerful Dashboards

New fluid dashboards are replacing the traditional “wall of tiles.” These modern, role-based dashboards (like Personal Details, Pay & Time, Manager Self Service, and HR Help Desk) are organized around user needs and tasks—not arbitrary module names. Customization is easier than ever with improved styling and configuration tools.

Feature Highlights

Recent and upcoming features continue to deliver value across the HCM lifecycle:

  • Preboarding: A new activity guide that enables new hires to complete forms and tasks before day one.
  • Fluid I-9 Form: Now mobile-ready with document uploads, manager involvement, and progress tracking.
  • Recognition: Built-in peer recognition capabilities—no extra licensing needed.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: A full-featured, end-to-end self-service process built from customer feedback.
  • Career Snapshot: Now available in Employee Self Service, showing employees the same profile data as managers.
  • Approval Requester Dashboard: Lets employees track the status of submitted requests in real time.

Modernized Paycheck Modeling

One standout demonstration showed the new fluid Paycheck Modeler, redesigned with a sleek interface and clear insights. Employees can simulate changes to earnings, deductions, and taxes and compare modeled paychecks with current ones. It’s intuitive, responsive, and uses real payroll engines behind the scenes for accuracy.

Productivity Boosters

PeopleSoft continues to incorporate productivity-focused enhancements:

  • Smart Prompts & Drop-downs: Frequently used values now surface first, saving time across thousands of fields.
  • Favorite Searches: Users can save, favorite, and quickly access personalized search criteria with results preview.
  • Work Centers & Work Management: Enhanced work centers with embedded insights, bulk actions, and activity tracking bring “one-stop” functionality to HR admins and power users.

Operational Insights & Search

The PeopleSoft team is doubling down on search and analytics. With over 325 visualizations and 65 dashboards available, organizations can uncover insights into headcount, payroll status, approval bottlenecks, and more. Index-driven search enables real-time analytics with low impact on production systems—also laying the groundwork for future AI integrations.

Compliance & Legislative Updates

In the past four images alone, Oracle has delivered more than 400 legislative updates across payroll, benefits, HR, and recruiting. Support for global compliance continues to grow, with region-specific updates for the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Asia, and Europe.

Looking Ahead

The roadmap is packed with more modernization efforts and customer-requested features:

  • Redesigned applicant portal
  • Fluid tax withholding forms (U.S. & Canada)
  • Admin views for paycheck modeling
  • Enhancements for HR Help Desk, Remote Worker, Team Time, and Delegations
  • Continued work on federal-specific functionality, including PAR process and hiring flows
