In this episode of PeopleSoft Talk, Marc Weintraub spoke with Rebekah Jackson, Vice President of Product Strategy, about the look forward and what to expect in the upcoming year.
There’s been a tremendous amount of investment in the PeopleSoft product. In the last year, there have been numerous deliverables to improve PeopleSoft products including analytics and insight delivery, Classic Plus, and HCM enhancements. Every year, PeopleSoft continues to build upon new capabilities—deepening and broadening the functionality of the software. The PeopleSoft Cumulative Feature Overview Tool is a dynamic tool that shows customers what new features have been delivered within a specific period of time. The Planned Features and Enhancements page is always published, and it is the most up to date roadmap.
PeopleSoft has numerous great features currently in the works. For example, on the ERP side, PeopleSoft is working on financial analytics for managers and continuing to roll out analysis and key measures. In receivables, PeopleSoft is working on the ability to set up payment plans, enhancements to payment predictor, and initiatives like guided buying in procurement.
On the HCM side, PeopleSoft is continuing to focus and invest in analytics for the administrators. PeopleSoft is looking at capabilities for HR administrators and at modernizing some of the core functionality that’s been in Human Resources for a long time—like job and personnel data. Drop Zones will be delivered on Fluid pages so customers will quickly and easily be able to put their customizations into the pages without an invasive impact.
PeopleSoft is also investing in chatbots. There is a lot of work going into enabling the infrastructure of the architecture for chatbots. In PeopleTools 8.5.7, some underlying steps were taken to enable components of it. In 2019, PeopleSoft will roll out BOTS in Human Resources for Absence Management. Once the groundwork is laid and the initial BOTs are out, PeopleSoft will deliver more and more of them.
