Join the Clerk & Comptroller of Palm Beach County as they reminisce on their journey down a road that few choose to travel… that of an Oracle to SQL server database conversion.
Most neighboring villages were shocked at their decision to forge that path, but the Clerk staff was determined. Many battles would ensue, victory guaranteed to no one.
However in the end, they would go on to achieve their quest, surprising even the naysayers. Here you will find the highlights of the epic battle, strategies for overcoming challenges, and tips for future travelers.
Taking the road less traveled was not for the faint of heart, but in the end they discovered we were capable of many great feats along the way, including upgrading hardware and installing a new PeopleTools version.
