Organizations want JD Edwards to be cost-effective, fast to deliver, and reliable. At Steltix, we’ve run this model in production for nearly all customers for over eight years, using standardization to cut waste, speed changes, and make operations predictable. Quarterly updates keep platforms current; disaster recovery is simple; and 24×7 follow-the-sun monitoring means real people are always watching. The result: lower TCO (often 50%+), faster time-to-value (hours, not weeks), and stable operations. **How we do it (technical view):** Containers act as standardized “building blocks” for each JDE component, running the same way everywhere. Instead of scattering components across servers/VMs (adding cost and complexity), we co-locate the full JDE stack—database, WebLogic, Enterprise Server, AIS/BSSV—and adjacents (SMTP, Samba/AD, Server Manager, mail catcher) on right-sized Oracle Cloud compute. Since JD Edwards is “chatty,” keeping components together places internal traffic on local fabric, improving performance. We deliver hardened images and update quarterly to keep OS/JDK/WebLogic/JDE current, avoiding risky “big-bang” patches. DR uses block-volume replication to another availability domain; OCI’s network virtualization and load balancing enable quick failover. Co-presented with Ralph Visser, IT Manager at Valveco, we’ll share architecture, migration from AWS to OCI, early results, cost outlook, and lessons learned—for both executives and hands-on practitioners. See how containerized JD Edwards on OCI can reduce TCO, shorten time-to-value, and boost security, performance, and reliability—plus get a plain-English primer and technical blueprint for predictable lifecycle management and cost savings. To automate the start/stop of Oracle WLS managed instances like HTML,BSSV, RTE, AIS using JDE UBE which can be placed on Scheduler. 1. Create an Orchestration using REST API and call Orchestration using B98ORCH function. Oracle has provided Server Manager REST APIs to stop/start the instance such as startinstance, stopinstance. Either of the REST API's will be triggered using orchestration. 2. Used dedicated AIS instance to run the start-stop orchestration 3. Created softcoding recoding for this new AIS instance mapped to user responsible for executing the UBE in scheduler for that environment. 4. New UBE calls the B98ORCH which in turn checks the soft coding record and invokes the orchestration on that dedicated AIS instance both for stopping as well as starting the WLS instances 5. Challenges faced: Cross environment mappings to stop PD servers from Non PD instances and sleep times between restarts of each server 6.Benefits: Eliminated manual intervention/errors in stop and start of servers and automation allowed to run the restarts during non business hours. The Assertion Manager is a tool developed within Orchestrator that enables you to create a master list of all your pre-existing orchestrators and their corresponding validations from the Assertion Framework. This allows for sequential, background execution of each process. At the end of the entire run, the tool captures all results and automatically generates a final report, which is sent as a notification. This comprehensive CSV report provides a complete overview for analysis, including: The name of the orchestrator that was executed. The input data used for the execution. The expected outcome. The actual value obtained. The validation type performed (e.g., Equal, Greater Than, Less Than, Not Equal). The pass/fail result of the validation. The server-side execution time. To use the Assertion Manager, you simply need to prepare your tests, create the necessary orchestrators, build the list of orchestrators to run, and create a configuration file for each one containing the test data and expected results. This configuration data also serves as a reliable backup for your process information. Currently, the Assertion Manager uses CSV files for input, but it can also be configured to accept JSON. As part of any EnterpriseOne upgrade project, customizations to applications and reports must be retrofitted after reviewing the latest code from Oracle. Intending to eliminate customizations, MASYC's approach to retrofitting versus implementing no/low code configured solutions ensures your company optimizes the newest toolset while retaining only customizations that provide strategic advantages. Our approach results in fewer customizations in your system after the upgrade, thus helping to maintain an easier upgrade path in the future and reducing overall technical debt. We’re thrilled to include Miguel Solares from Tri Pointe Homes, who will share invaluable insights on their Release 25 upgrade! Traditionally, this retrofit endeavor would be undertaken with the expectation that the majority of modifications would carry over, unless perhaps a new application functionality was introduced by Oracle that replaced the customization. Jump to today with the latest no/low code tools available from Oracle, such as end-user Personalization and configurable User Defined Objects that include the Orchestrator Studio. JD Edwards clients can now replace their legacy customizations with a tailored UDO-configured solution, achieving the goal of reducing their customization inventory. At NOV, most operations follow an approval process for advancing operational and payment transactions. NOV has faced difficulties obtaining physical approvals internally and from customers. For example, service technicians must secure internal supervisor approval before service and customer approval upon completion to process payment. Dependence on physical documents and signatures causes payment delays. If technicians could acquire customer signatures electronically, the process would be streamlined, improving cash collections. JDE offers E-Signature functionality, but only on Apple iPads. This limitation requires technicians to use the latest iPad model—a substantial investment. To address this, Birlasoft developed a practical solution for NOV that integrates JDE with DocuSign using Orchestrator to update signature or approval status. The new functionality enables collection of electronic signatures on JDE PDF documents in two ways: Sending documents directly to a customer’s email (from the JDE address book) for E-signing. Allowing field technicians to access the PDF on their device and capture the customer’s signature on-site. Advantages of E-Signature Functionality: • Send, sign, track, and manage documents electronically within JDE. • Works on any device: laptop, desktop, tablet, or mobile phone. • Improves cash collections by accelerating payments. This session will take you along Tyndale’s journey into discovery, solutioning and implementing a new process for Sales Distribution fulfillment. Tyndale contracted to do distribution fulfillment for a partner company. We needed to setup a new line of products – that is not considered our inventory, be ready to take sales orders and payments from customers both manually and via our Website integrated in with our own products. However, the Sales for these items would not be treated as Revenue but would fall into “other income” and we would pay back a percentage of sales as a fee to the partner. This required us to creatively solution a new Procurement, Inventory and Receiving process - without changing the steps the warehouse crew had to follow! Then had to redirect the sales revenue to be Other income – behind the scenes. And Oh – we needed it all up and running in 12 weeks! This session will walk you though how we did it – and went live- on time! So if you are interested in Procurement, Inventory, Sales, Finance (and those fun AAIs!) there's a little bit in this story for everyone! Safety is an ethos at Hoffman Construction that carries all the way over to IT. Some of our key processes that utilize orchestrator require quick action if any piece fails. Rather than using the built-in orch error handling, which requires lots of granular forethought, we developed a solution that allows us to designate a given orchestration as a priority, and also designate individual emails to notify if that orch errors, all within the Orch Cross Reference, all softcoded. The goal is for us, the technical process owners, to hear about issues BEFORE our users report them. This allows us to often fix the issue prior to our users waking up. We will walk through our thought process, the setup of the orch itself, our unique use of the cross reference, and we will also distribute a copy of the orchestration to interested attendees. This session is eligible for the following CPE credits: NASBA.
