At BLUEPRINT 4D 2025, Oracle’s Group VP of Application Product Development and Strategy, Gary Grieshaber, spoke on the power of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and how embedded AI is fundamentally transforming enterprise finance. From real-time analytics to autonomous agents, the session showcased Oracle’s commitment to delivering a touchless, intelligent financial operation—backed by the proven scale of its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and real customer success stories.
Why Move to Oracle Cloud ERP?
While on-premise systems have long served enterprise needs, Gary highlighted their limitations: fragmented data, manual processes, costly infrastructure, and slow, resource-intensive upgrades. With Fusion Cloud, Oracle offers an end-to-end suite of applications—ERP, SCM, HCM, and CX—unified on OCI. The results? Improved performance, streamlined operations, and faster innovation delivered through quarterly updates.
The Cloud suite comes with built-in analytics, industry-specific modules, and embedded AI that supports everything from predictive insights to generative reporting. This isn’t just about migrating systems—it’s about reimagining processes.
Touchless Architecture: The Future of Finance
Oracle’s “touchless architecture” strategy centers on automation and AI, reducing the need for manual data entry and improving data quality. The goal? Shift finance teams away from transactional tasks and into strategic roles. The architecture is built around three principles:
- Touchless Entry: Capture data at the source—no more keying in receipts or invoices. A prime example is submitting expenses by simply emailing or texting a photo of a receipt.
- Predictive Insights: Once data enters the system, it’s automatically enriched and analyzed using machine learning to highlight trends, anomalies, and actions.
- Connected Action: Intelligent agents then guide or even complete transactions—like payments—based on data and business rules.
AI Embedded in Action
Several live use cases of AI inside Oracle ERP were demonstrated:
- AI-Powered Analytics: Personalized, contextual dashboards that suggest relevant visualizations and insights tailored to the user’s role and data access.
- Policy Assistance via GenAI: Users can upload organizational policies into an AI repository and ask natural-language questions to get real-time guidance based on their specific role and location.
- Narrative Reporting: Oracle’s reporting tools combine financial data, visualizations, and generative AI to produce complete, boardroom-ready reporting packages. This has enabled Oracle to reduce its own internal reporting effort by 90%.
- Predictive Cash Forecasting: A new module uses historical behavior—rather than just payment terms—to predict cash flow with precision. Real-time bank integrations and payment optimization suggestions help finance teams better manage working capital.
AI Agent Studio: Building Autonomous Workflows
Oracle’s newly introduced AI Agent Studio empowers users to build custom digital agents—mirroring the tools Oracle uses internally. These agents can automate entire business workflows, from accounts payable to performance reviews, using a mix of prebuilt templates and organization-specific configurations. It’s another step toward fully autonomous back-office operations.
Lessons from the Field: Cloud Journeys from the Front Lines
The session concluded with real-world stories from customers Josh Stauffer and James McBride, both of whom led full-scale ERP transformations at their organizations. Despite the challenges of legacy systems and complex operations, both teams took a bold, all-in approach—migrating from fragmented on-premise environments to Oracle Cloud.
Their advice? Focus on:
- Change Management: Communicate clearly and often—and from the right voices. When change is driven by business leaders, not just IT, adoption grows.
- Strategic Planning: Take time to define goals and redesign processes. Use the shift to cloud as an opportunity to challenge the status quo, not replicate it.
- Incremental Wins: Whether you go “big bang” or phase by function or region, make sure each step adds value and builds confidence.
The Bottom Line
Oracle Cloud ERP is more than just a technology shift—it’s an operational evolution. With embedded AI, autonomous agents, and continuous innovation delivered through quarterly updates, Oracle is helping finance teams shift from tactical execution to strategic leadership.
For organizations still on the fence, the message was clear: Now is the time to start the journey. Whether you begin with finance, procurement, or HR, each step forward brings measurable gains in agility, insight, and resilience.
