New JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Extensibility Framework Innovations

Terry Issac Kanichai, Senior Customer Success Engineer for Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, recently spoke about new JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Extensibility Framework innovations. The presentation dove into a low-code, no-code approach, how to personalize forms based on business requirements, and personalization with no FDA-level code change.
Traditional Customization Approach
The traditional customization approach includes six steps.
- Creating a customization request
- Performing customization and sending for package build
- Building and deploying the package
- Validating the changes in Test environments
- Building and deploying the package in Production
- Being available for end users
There are also several challenges to the traditional customization approach. It has a delayed time to market, and there is a barrier to continuous adoption. It also constantly must be reworked.
Benefits of Extensibility Framework
There are several benefits of the extensibility features, including:
- Additional flexibility with less dependency on an IT developer
- User friendly
- Time and cost savings
- A holistic solution without creating barriers to continuous adoption
- Meeting additional industry and regional data requirements quickly and easily

Extensibility Frameworks include:
- Query Manager
- One View
- Café One
- Watchlists
- Composed Pages
- Form Personalization
- List View
- Enterprise Search
- Orchestrator Studio
- Form Extension
- Notifications
One key feature that is now available is the ability to add Business View and Table Columns on Forms. This key feature allows users to create, consume and capture. They can create holistic solutions by using additional information in the frameworks without creating barriers for continuous adoption. Consumption is possible within the frameworks and orchestrations can now transact with additional information.
It is also possible to personalize forms, create alerts, and connect using Café One. Additionally, it is possible to capture additional information in order to meet industry and regional additional data requirements.
There are four main benefits of launching orchestrations from an application, which can be done from Form Event Rules or Grid Event Rules.
- The user is able to meet the business logic requirements.
- It is on the glass without customization.
- This meets all integration requirements.
- It is possible to launch orchestrations in real-time.
Base Form Security is also very important. It is important to secure the base form. You secure the base form by hiding it from the end users. It is important to restrict access to a base EnterpriseOne form so that users can access only the personalized forms and not the base forms. Administrators secure the base form with UDO security.
